I'm SOOOO Tired

I'm so tired, you guys. My insomnia just keeps lingering on. I was up for 2 hours last night with horrific heartburn. So I sat online and got all updated with my nestie girls. That was only the good part. I really have to watch what I eat moving forward. We went out to dinner last night and I sat there and stared at the menu forever (much to my husband's dismay!). I finally picked bbq ribs and fries! Okay, now what the hell was I thinking? I was contemplating the damn cobb salad too which probably would have left me sleeping like a baby...unlike the lovely ribs and fries did. Why do I do this to myself? My poor stomach. My babies are loving it though, I'm sure. Those were some damn good ribs, let me tell you!!

Now at 13 weeks, my babies are measuring the size of two medium shrimp. Last week they were limes...and I keep thinking...aren't limes bigger than medium shrimp? I just can't wait to find out the sexes of these little shrimpies. I sobbed at the doctor's office the other day looking at the pics of the new babies on the wall. I can't wait to snuggle my nose into their fuzzy little baby chic hair on top of their heads. There is nothing more sweet than the smell of a baby. I cannot wait for all you new moms to experience that. It's one of the BEST things in life.

Back From Vacation! NT Scan Results and More!

VACATION

Wow, could life get any more crazy and busy? I guess yes...if I was working full-time still this whole phase of my life would be NUTS! In a "nut"shell I am doing great. Dev, Lilly and I got back from the Cape on Saturday. We had an incredible vacation on the beach. I ate lots and lots of bad bad food, but when you are on vacation you have that license, correct?? Ha...ha. Someone took that license away when we were going over the Sagamore Bridge on the way home. My MIL has a great analogy about going on vacation to the Cape. She says when everyone drives down to the Cape and crosses the bridge, they open their car windows and let their "life issues" fly out in the form of giant balloons. As everyone drives away from the bridge they can see their balloons disappear into the blue sky. Then they are off to enjoy their beach vacation without a care in the world! The problem is when everyone is on their way back home from vacation and they cross that bridge again....don't look...there they are...those damn balloons! They float right back for everone to pick them up again on their way home, back to reality!! Ha..ha. I love that.

Anyway, Lilly had a ball with her cousins, Max and Emily. We only had one rainy day and we took the kids bowling. That was Lilly's first time and she did fantastic! She loved every second of it and all of us adults loved it too b/c of the great bumpers!! I've never bowled so good in my life!

NT SCAN

Monday I had my NT scan and bloodwork. The scan went very well. The u/s tech said all the measurements look normal and both babes are measuring great. They are exactly the same size! They were so cute floating around on that screen. I still haven't rec'd my b/w results yet. She said when I get those back they can paint me a fuller picture of my results. I'm happy so far and just hoping for completely normal results. I'm still spotting a bit but my ob/gyn is not concerned b/c it is going away verrrrrrrrrry slowly and I feel great. My m/s is completely gone and I'm beginning to feel like I can cook normally again and eat things that turned my stomach before. I am forever grateful to my body for making this change! Thank you hormones!

HOUSE

So we followed the offer we got on our house through the nerve-wracking inspection and through all the negotiations that come after that. Our house is quite old so we thought we'd have to do some additional negotiations. Lo and behold, we did. But it wasn't too painful. As of yesterday, the buyers apparently have signed the P&S and now I am waiting for some kind of update from Devon. After we move out we will be renting an apartment from my BIL until we can find our dream house. We do not want to move again, so we plan to take our time, deciding exactly where we want to live and what we want. We have had a "must-have's" checklist for a while now. This time it will be ALL about location location location. Our first house is on a busy road....Yup, done with that. I can't wait to be able to open alllll of my windows w/o trying to make believe the traffic noise sounds like the ocean waves...ha. We want quiet. That is tops on the list. The next is a level-lot backyard, not too big but just enough room for kids and dogs to play and for mom to have a small veggie garden and lots of perennials. I would love to have a kitchen that doesn't need any updates...but really, is that being realistic? In Massachusetts?? On the Northshore?? Probably not...esp. with a one-income household at this point. We'll do what we can. We're def. going to take our time looking and deciding.

So that's the poop scoop! Hopefully I can keep up with more updates b/c I know my life is sooooooooo very interesting...ha ha..(sarcasm noted!).

Enjoy the day ladies!!!

VACATION TOMORROW !!!!!!

I'm completely psyched for vacation. I am praying our weather is going to be fabulous! It's been crappy all this week so we'll see. We are off to Cape Cod for 7 days and it's going to feel so good to put my toes in the sand every day! Lilly is super excited to build castles with her new pails we got. We are going with my in-laws and they are fantastic people. We always have so much fun with them.

Also! Our potential buyers accepted our counter-offer which I was amazed by. We still have some hurdles to jump with the inspection this week. Should be interesting with the drippy ceiling these guys witnessed. We'll see. I'm praying praying praying we can make this work b/c this is the ideal time for us to sell.

On top of this happiness, I only got happier when I had my first ob/gyn appt. yesterday. Lilly was with me and we both got to hear the two beautiful heartbeats from our two gorgeous babies. They are doing great! I am still spotting a bit, but the midwife said I shouldn't worry too much. She does want me to come in again the week after my vacation to check in anyway. I have my Down's and Trisomy screening the Monday after vacation. I am a little anxious for that but I'm not going to let it invade my relaxation-vacation zone!

Have a fabulous week everyone!!! : ))))))

Holding Breath: First Offer

We had the craziest, most insane Sunday. First off, we have been showing our house at least 2x's a week. It has been an ass of a time getting this house ready to be seen, it's exhausting. The worst day was about 2 weeks ago when we spent 2.5 hours getting the house ready and we left with Lilly and Stoli (furbaby) in the car and drove by the house to make sure the realtor and the clients got to the house. They did...but they didn't even get out of the car! They didn't realize the house was on a busy street and didn't even want to bother looking at the inside. Devon and I were so frustrated and inconsolable that neither one of us spoke for about an hour. We felt like we hit rock bottom. We were pissed at the realtor for not setting the expectations for their client, pissed that we wasted an entire afternoon getting the house ready, and just down right, plain tired. So we managed to get over it and went on with the rest of our week. Bring us to this past weekend. Devon announced Friday that two separate parties were coming in on Sunday afternoon to see the house. I sighed with the exhausted thought of it but knew we had to dig our heels in and keep going. So we get the house ready and leave. The realtor came by before we left and she was really nice and we gave her a bit of a lowdown on the house. Dev and I leave again with dd and furbaby, drive by 15 mins later and the clients are there and IN the house...one hurdle cleared. So we go to grab an ice cream and look up into the sky and notice huge...wait, not huge...ginormous storm clouds are coming in. PANIC! I left the upstairs windows open....crap. Again, we are silent. The thunder, the lightening and the SERIOUS rain comes pouring down in craploads of humungous buckets!! This was rain you had to stop your car and pull over in b/c you can't see a damn thing and floods are forming in the span of 5 seconds. It was nuts. We decide when these clients are done looking I'll run in and close the windows, regardless of if they are still there or not. So I go in the back door and they are all standing on the deck. Trying so hard with fake humor, I ask them if they noticed the windows open upstairs and how dumb I am for leaving them open. The girl promptly says..."Oh we shut them for you but some water did come in...and (here's the BONUS item) ummm, we moved your garbage can underneath where the water was coming from the ceiling here"...(she points to the ceiling in the mudroom). HUMILIATION! So I mutter "thanks so much!" and rush upstairs to mop up the very slick and dangerous hardwood floors. I was thinking that the showing was a bust but let's salvage what we can for happy party#2 coming in. And can I just tell you that we've lived in this house for 4.5 years and the ceiling that was leaking has only dripped like 3 times the entire time we've lived there. I know, our fault we haven't fixed it...but it really hasn't been an issue and we've been so busy updating the rest of our 100 year old house.

So......here's the finale to my story. Devon had a breakdown after both showings...especially after I told him about the ceiling leaking on top of the windows being open. He was beside himself declaring in spits of rage "We're not showing this house for the rest of August! No luck ever comes our way, we might as well get used to it! I hope the entire ceiling caves in right on top of the next realtor! We can't catch a break anywhere!"....on and on and on...you get the picture. It wasn't pretty. So Devon left for a business trip on Monday and lo and behold he calls me this afternoon and says "You're never going to believe who just called me.....the realtor that brought the leaking roof clients over to see the house. Guess what...they are putting in an offer on our house!!!!!". I am completely dumbfounded right now. I'm in shock. I guess despite everything, they loved our house. Holy crap! We just rec'd the offer and we are going to counter just a bit higher b/c it's really close to what we were expecting. I am just sitting on pins and needles right now and hoping and praying all of this works out. I would give anything to be able to sell now...b/c every month is only going to get harder and harder for me. I am going to be a blimp by Thanksgiving as it is! I'll be lucky if I can carry my underwear out of the house on moving day by then. I'm thinking if this one falls through and we don't sell by October, we will take it off the market and wait a while. It will just be too hard with twins to try to sell. One day at a time!

On another note, I have my first real prenatal ob/gyn appt. tomorrow. I can't wait to hear the midwife tell me that I've already gained too much weight. I'm already using the bella band! Oh, oh, oh....it's not going to be pretty..ha..ha.
